Bean, a young boy with a learning disability, is learning to read. When Bean reads a sentence that contains a word he doesn't understand, Ender graduates from being a student to being the teacher. Ender tells Bean, "I would carry some of it if I could." This is a promise from Ender to Bean that he will do whatever is necessary to make Bean's life easier.
